Tasks

This is the heart of Clairvoyant. Creating and managing tasks should feel effortless — not like filling out a form.

Creating Tasks

Just type what you need to do:

"Email client about project update"

That's it. Clairvoyant picks up the task title, and if you mention a date or priority, it grabs those too. No dropdowns, no separate fields — just type naturally and it figures out what you mean.

Shorthand Syntax

Once you get the hang of it, these shortcuts make things even faster:

ShorthandExampleWhat it does
@today @tomorrow @friday"Fix bug @tomorrow"Sets the due date
@3pm @9am"Call client @2pm"Sets a due time
!high !medium !low"Deploy fix !high"Sets priority
+projectname"Design mockup +website"Assigns to a project
tag:name"Research tag:marketing"Adds a tag
4h 30m"Write docs 2h"Sets a time estimate

You can mix and match these however you like. "Review proposal @friday !high +client-work 1h" creates a high-priority task due Friday, assigned to your client-work project, with a one-hour estimate. All from one line.

Organising Tasks

Priority Levels

  • High - The stuff that needs to happen today
  • Medium - Important, but the world won't end if it waits
  • Low - Get to it when you can

Right-click any task to change its priority, or just use !high when you create it.

Projects

For bigger pieces of work, group tasks into projects. Create one from the sidebar, then add tasks to it. The +projectname shorthand lets you assign tasks to projects as you create them.

Completing Tasks

Click the checkbox, or press Space when a task is selected. Done. Completed tasks move to a "Done" section so you can look back and feel good about what you've accomplished.
